AAPF/IAPF Launches Farrier Credentialing Program

Through this “Journey” you’ll take steps which will demonstrate to horse owners, trainers, veterinarians, and others in the horse industry your personal commitment to your profession!
A TWO-STEP PROCESS
Step One – Foundation Credential
- Qualifications: AAPF/IAPF Regular of Student Member
- Requires the completion (100%) of a 395-question multiple choice test (open book) using the AAPF/IAPF Farrier Credentialing Study Guide covering all aspects of farriery
- Farrier has one full year to complete the test
- Farrier earns 24 AAPF Continuing Education credits for successful completion
- No Exemptions – regardless of years of experience, certifications, or endorsements
- Cost: $100 - includes study guide, test, answer sheets, and pre-addressed envelope to return your answer sheet

- Qualifications: Successful completion of “Foundation Credential” and having earned at least 24 AAPF CE credits in previous year,
- Another written test based upon a Study Guide created for the disciplines
- Travel to an Educational Facility for further testing including the forging of at least two shoe modifications specific to discipline and roundtable discussions with fellow farriers
- Writing of an article (with assistance of AAPF/IAPF Public Relations Committee) for publication in American Farriers Journal
